It’s every girls dream to run away with the one they love, but how many of us actually get to make that childhood fantasy come true? As the winners of Cupcakes Vineyards, “Love Deliciously Dream Wedding” contest via Pinterest, our lovely couple Val + Lee joined their adventurous nature and love of the outdoors with inspiration from the Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom, to form an enchanting 1960’s style camp wedding.
Artist & photographer Elizabeth Messina beautifully captured the heavenly scenery, and shot some really captivating images while showcasing Val and Lee's love, and the close friendship between Val and her girls.
In the middle of the Ocala National Forest, Val and her girls set up camp outside while getting ready. Guided by Elizabeth’s signature touch, she was able to achieve gorgeous, luminous photos by venturing outdoors for natural lighting, and an organic backdrop. The breathtaking lake shore and canopy of trees created a perfectly whimsical setting for Val and her girls, and the photos truly capture the natural radiance and happiness they all shared together.
Escorted by the cutest pot belly pig companion named Figgy Pudin (who wore a flower crown!), Val wore our Elizabeth lined cotton lace robe while getting ready.
Val’s bridesmaids looked beyond adorable in our silk robes trimmed with Italian macramé lace. Each one dressed in a different pastel color, which came out so beautiful against the soft, muted Florida forest; they all appeared like wood nymph’s circling around the bride. While Val’s girls buttoned her up in her beautiful custom Chaviano Couture gown, they were all able to take a moment in the fresh air of the morning and soak up the sun.
It was truly a pleasure to design and create these robes for our sweet bride Val.
Val + Lee’s vision was made a reality through their creative direction. Both working in the creative/graphic design field (they made the invitations & paper goods themselves!), they were able to seamlessly combine their love of film & design and produce a whimsical interpretation of true campground romance. With the help of some really wonderful Florida vendors, planning with Alison Events, and gorgeous florals by Natalie Bowen Design, Val + Lee were able to breathe easy and enjoy the enchanting grounds they transformed into their own Camp Waters.
This wedding was so utterly charming there’s
just too much to cover in one post! Be sure to check back for Part 2 coming
soon.
